Juneteenth Hip Hop and Rap Song
This Juneteenth Hip Hop and rap song with lyric video is part of a reader’s theater play that follows a community of family, friends, and neighbors as they rehearse for their Juneteenth celebration while educating people about the history and significance of the holiday. The group performs two songs about the holiday that your cast can perform as a poem without music or with the included instrumental as a rap musical, chant, or a combination of all three!

Hope – Faith’s friend who is performing with the group
Khalil – Uncle Vic’s nephew who is performing with the group
Malik – Khalil’s friend who is performing with the group
Uncle Vic – encourages everyone to appreciate and celebrate Black history and Khalil’s uncle
Supporting Roles
James – neighbor who supports Juneteenth celebration and is interested in learning about its history
Harmony – new neighbor who wants to learn about the Juneteenth celebration
