Hip Hop Language Arts Activities

April 29, 2025

If you’re looking for a fun change of pace, Hip Hop language arts activities for your middle school students is the way to go!

To get you and your students, I’ve turned a clean freestyle rap into a fun ELA activity!

This activity features the entire freestyle for students to read and complete ELA activities for.

And in case I didn’t say it already, the rap is 100% clean and school-appropriate! No embarrassing moments, talks with your admin, or nervous sweating with this one! I’ve searched the internet for the cleanest but still coolest freestyle rap to use so don’t have to.

The video for the freestyle rap performance is linked in the activity for your students to watch as well!

Use it to show your students the positive side of Hip Hop and how hard AND smart work pay off as the artist showcases his skills.
